‘82. Sold and donated pieces to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the permanent collection.
‘83. Fashion pieces collected for the permanent collection by the Musée de la Mode et du Costume in Paris. Exhibited at the Electra show at the Musée d’Art Moderne, Paris.
‘84-90. Designed and executed interior commercial spaces in New York including Indochine, China Club and Canal Bar. Started producing furniture. Selling in Galleries (Civilization, Gallery 91, Gallery of Functional Art) in LA.& New York.
‘91. Moved from New York to Colorado, shipping pieces worldwide.
‘92. Opened Nik Mills Studio (retail Store/Studio) off Larimer Square in downtown Denver. Selling furniture and sculpture. Sculpture starts to take the leading roll. The Eiffel Tower Stool acquired by the Brooklyn Museum of Art for permanent collection. Pieces exhibited in the Fashion and History: A Dialogue, Metropolitan Museum of Art.
‘96. Left Denver for Taos, NM. Rented an abandoned roadside gas station and produced sculpture.
‘97. Move back to civilization: Denver. Thank goodness. Piece included in the 20th Century Design exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum of Art. Pieces exhibited once again at the Metropolitan Museum of Art at the Wordrobe exhibit.
‘98-’05. Working on commissions in the Denver Studio.
